If you're buying a HEPA air purifer, you're serious about your health and the air quality in your environment. Many people search and read HEPA air purifer reviews only to find just about everyone claiming their model as 'the best' or 'highest rated'. So, how do you know what to believe? To shed some light on this subject, here are some tips for using these reviews effectively and what to look for:

1) To make an effective, informed choice, it's best to use both consumer reviews and independent reviews (those not paid by anyone for their opinions, not trying to sell anything, etc). Any air purifer review that says 'paid advertisement' , 'paid for by', or anything like that in the fine print at the bottom, push to the side for now. This will not be your main source of good information. They are being paid by someone to write that review or article and say that unit is the best, etc.

2) Use what they 'say' and 'the numbers' to help evaluate a particular unit. Remember, their opinion is just that, an opinion, and your assessment may be different.

3) Some of your best air purifer reviews and information are going to come from independent testing and review organizations, such as AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers), which list the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) for many manufacturers that chose to participate. Their findings / reviews are published twice a year, in January and July. Just because a company does not participate in CADR testing doesn't mean they aren't quality; Aller Air does not participate but is a highly rated air purifier. Those that do participate, however, at least you know what the clean air delivery rate is from an independent source.

4) Keep in mind that the 'best' HEPA air purifer for YOU depends on several factors: your particular concerns like allergy, mold, dust, chemicals, sensitivity to sound, your budget, room size, weight of the unit, how the look matches your decor, and other features important to you.
